In 1993 a new Jetty was built at Ras Helf by Al Majali Trading,.

Early 1995 the second Landing Craft “Al Shamkhiyah” joined the company ferrying in Masirah. 

End of 1995 a new branch in Nizwa city was opened with the state-of-art Fish Processing Plant.
 
 
 
 
 
Safety and Environmental Policy

It is the policy of the company that all employees in every function within the organizations execute their work under safe and healthy conditioned with proper concern for protection the environment.

The Chairman and the Operation Manager expect that everyone within the organization whether ashore or onboard ship(s) follow the standards and instruction issued by the company.

At all levels of the organization, both ashore and onboard, the management is responsible for ensuring that the safety and Environmental protection policy is understood, implemented and maintained. ultimate responsiblity remains with the operations manager.

It is the companies aim to eliminate possible dangers, which may result in personnel injury, accidents, damage to the environment and damage to property.

Recognition of these dangers must become a way of life for all company personnel.

Our safety management system must be aimed a prevention of errors, hazardous situations and incidents, should these occur every employee is required to participate in determining possible cases in order to prevent future re-occurrences.

Our safety management system is based upon the reporting of non-conformities within our system, on the reporting of accidents, incidents and hazardous occurrences, and upon the results of internal auditing of our organization. The information obtained is used to assess the continued effectiveness of our system during our management review meetings, which will be held once per year.

Within Al Majali International S.A.O.C Safety and environment protection are given the highest priority. Our standards can only be met with the total commitment of the every individual within our organization.

Our system will provide for safe practices in our ship operation by developing and issuing procedures, guidelines and work instructions, where found necessary due to statutory requirements, past experience or as a result of incidents, accidents, internal audit and management reviews.

Our system will ensure a safe working environment, by recognizing training needs and ensuring only properly trained personnel are used in any particular task. Any activities that can be  identified potentially hazardous will be specially considered and procedures will be developed and training provided as required.

Our system will provide for continuous improvement of the safety management skills of our personnel both ashore and on board our ship, by ensuring their participation in regular training exercises and reviews of performance. 

Our System will ensure proper preparedness for emergencies both safely related and environmental by development of procedures to recognize and deal with potentially hazardous or environmentally damaging situations, and by conducting regular exercises to ensure that all involved employees can effectively contribute in an emergency situation.

 Our system will ensure complains with mandatory rules and regulation by ensuring that our vessel is always in a regular class position, and that statutory certificates remain valid at all times.

Our system will ensure that codes, guidelines, and standards recommended by IMO, flag state, classification societies, and marine industry organization, that are applicable to our activities, are taken into account.

 
 
 
 
 

Drug & Alcohol Policy

 

The company is committed to safe, healthy and productive work place employees. The company recognizes that alcohol or drug abuses by employees will impair their ability to perform properly and will have serious adverse effects on safety, efficiency, and productivity of other employees and the company as a whole.

The misuse of legitimate drugs or the use, possession, distribution, or sale of illicit or prescribed controlled drugs on company business premises or vessels we strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate dismissal.

Any person talking medication prescribed by a doctor, which may impair performance or ability to operate missionary or drive must advise his line manager or master.

Possession, use, distribution, or sale of alcoholic beverages on company business premises or vessels is forbidden.

Being unfit for work because of use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate dismissals.

The company may require all employees, officers and ratings, to submit to alcohol and / or drug testing where cause exits to suspect alcohol or drug abuse and after any lost time accident.

Unannounced testing may be conducted when deemed necessary by the company or where law requires testing. A positive test result or refusal to submit to drug or alcohol test is grounds for disciplinary action, Immediate dismissal.

The company may also conduct unannounced searches for drugs and alcohol on company operated vessels and business premises.

Pilots, office personnel, guests, contractors, vendor personnel and other persons onboard company vessels and in business premises will be required to comply with the policy restrictions on use, possession and distribution of alcohol and drugs and provisions regarding searches.
